about

"The Line" is the latest release from Amanda Broadway's series of recordings, The Sanctuary Sessions. Recording all songs at The Sanctuary in Nashville, the focus of this project is to approach each song in the studio individually, and to follow the vision of each song without limitation by genre, instrumentation, personnel, or production style. "The Line" was recorded LIVE without overdubs!

lyrics

You call up sayin’ how I ain’t givin’
Rollin’ on and on ‘bout how I’m livin’
You keep playin’, manipulatin’
Goin’ ‘round and ‘round and nothin’s changin’

You push and shove
And oh it’s never enough
Now I’m here to tell ya honey life can be rough

(You keep messin’!) messin’ with me yeah
(You ain’t listenin’!) listenin’ to me no
(You keep missin’!) missin’ yeah
You got your thing you know I got mine
You gotta move along and step off my time
Get back on over to your side of the line

If they’ll take it while you fake it
String ‘em up and down until you break it
But I’m not playin’ no, hear what I'm sayin'
Don’t waste my time, no I’m not changin’

You push and shove
And oh I’ve had enough
Now I’m done if you don’t like it well tough

(You keep messin’!) messin’ with me yeah
(You ain’t listenin’!) listenin’ to me no
(You keep missin’!) missin’ yeah
You got your thing you know I got mine
You gotta move along and step off my time
Get back on over to your side

No we can’t carry on this way
I can’t stay stuck in your same old ways

(You keep messin’!) messin’ with me yeah
(You ain’t listenin’!) listenin’ to me no
(You keep missin’!) missin’ yeah
You got your thing you know I got mine
You gotta move along and step off my time
Get back on over to your side of the line

Move along and step off my time yeah
Get back, get back, get back babe!
I said, move along and step off my time
Get back on over to your side of the line
